Introduction to Corporate Governance

A one-day course examining the fundamental principles corporate governance

Duration: Full day        CPD: 6 hours

About

What exactly is corporate governance? Why is it so important? Who is responsible for it in an organisation – and what do they do?

Designed specifically for those with no prior knowledge of corporate governance, this one-day course examines how corporate governance works in the UK, and the legal and regulatory framework which underpins what organisations do. It looks in detail at some of the key governance responsibilities for company boards, and considers the relationship between governance, corporate values and ethics. Delegates will also be asked to explore the role of shareholders and other stakeholders. The course includes the use of group working and a governance case study.

Delegates will finish the course with a greater understanding of the main principles of good governance and and how they might be applied within an organisation.

For those with some existing knowledge of business administration seeking a more in-depth overview should refer to our Essential Corporate Governance course.
