About

Who is the course aimed at?

The Certificate in Employee Share Plans course has been designed especially for:

  • Company secretaries, assistant company secretaries and those supporting the company secretarial function;
  • Administrators, both those within companies and those providing services externally;
  • Human resource professionals, those working within companies in designing and communicating employee share plans;
  • Benefit consultants who advise on employee and executive share plans.

The qualification

This is the only professional employee share plan qualification available in the UK. Participants can expect the course to be equivalent to the first year of a three-year undergraduate honours degree programme in the United Kingdom.

After successfully completing the assessments you will be awarded the Certificate in Employee Share Plans and will be entitled to use the post nominal 'Cert.CG’.

Entry

This qualification is for those working in company secretarial or administration roles, human resources professionals and consultants. You do not need any formal qualifications to enter the course.

Most participants are employed in a relevant occupation and have at least GCSEs or their equivalent.

Content

The course is divided into two parts, each delivered in training sessions over two and a half days:

Part 1

  • Introduction and Overview
  • Design Issues
  • Global Plans
  • Legal and regulatory.

Part 2

  • All Employee Share Plans
  • Executive Plans
  • Tax and National Insurance
  • Accounting Reporting and Disclosure
  • Administration.

Assessment of this qualification is by examination, held in autumn and spring.

Study

This qualification is only offered as a face-to-face, intensive learning course with Tapestry Compliance. 

It is based on lectures, interactive group work, worked examples, case studies and Q&A over two sessions of two and a half days held in autumn and spring.

Fees

The course fee is £4,315 + VAT.

This fee covers:

  • The course, including training sessions, course materials, pastoral support, access to dedicated website
  • Examination fees
  • Certification
  • Some refreshments
  • Attendance at optional short seminars and events for 24 months from the start of the course (this excludes half and full day supplemental events and socials/dinners)
