Summary

There is an ever greater need for high-quality clerks who can provide the skills and knowledge crucial to the long-term success of a school. This qualification provides the skills and resource to ensure fulfil the role of the modern professional clerk.

This Level 3 certificate, is a flexible development programme for new and experienced clerks currently working in all schools, trust and MAT settings. As the course features 360° diagnostic review and practical projects relating to your school, you will need to have been a clerk for over three months and work alongside a school in order to begin the programme.

Duration

The course runs over a nine-month period. It is led by experienced facilitators, through workshops and one-to-one mentoring throughout the duration of this programme. You will also attend four face-to-face workshops with an experienced facilitator focusing on the development of clerking competencies

Content

The course includes:

  • A 360-degree diagnostic of the participant’s strengths and areas for development
  • Participation in peer-to-peer and group learning to strengthen and support networking
  • Support with creating and completing a focused school-based project
  • Support in completion of a learning log to record personalised areas for focus and key learning points

This course will develop your delivery in clerking matters by:

  • Enhancing knowledge, clerking skills and networks
  • Creating a school-based project to improve effectiveness in clerking practice
  • Enhancing awareness of your strengths and areas for development
  • Creating self-supporting groups to ensure learning and support beyond the duration of the programme
  • An accredited qualification from two leading professional bodies

Entry requirements: You will need to have been a clerk for over 3 months and be currently working alongside a school.
Where: Cohorts available throughout England.
Delivery: A blend of flexible learning which includes workshops, e-learning modules and one-to-one mentoring

When: Course starts September 2019. Exams in June 2020
Cost: £425 (£350 DfE funding available)
