Here you can find out about how getting involved with Inspiring the Future can inspire the next generation of Chartered Secretaries.
Inspiring the Future is a free volunteering service that connects teachers from 4,000 state schools and colleges with over 16,500 volunteers across England and Wales who have pledged to give just one hour a year to speak to young people about their job, career and the education route they took. This might be in the form of a talk, presence at a careers day or via CV feedback or mock interviews.
One of core our aims as a chartered membership body is to promote and nurture the profession. We know from members' feedback (confirmed by the recent Henley report) that company secretaries are often modest and discreet. Their work is important but is not always well understood outside the boardroom. To champion the role we need to tell more people about it, including students making choices about their qualifications and the careers advisors that support them.
Many ICSA members want to help us in this work and Inspiring the Future gives you opportunity to do so. We are also supporting ICSA staff who want to volunteer too. It’s a great way to give something back to our local communities, and it also develops our individual skills and experience too.
Take the first step and register today (it only takes a couple of minutes).
When completing your profile, please write ICSA in the 'My memberships of Professional Association …’ and it will appear for you to select.
