Skills specimen: Trustee boards

For a charity to build and maintain an effective trustee board capable of fulfilling the charitable objects, it is imperative that the trustees collectively possess a range of skills, knowledge, attributes and experience. Trustee boards should undertake a skills audit to establish the skills, experiences and competences available in the boardroom and to ascertain what areas need developing.

This guidance note is a comprehensive specimen skills audit for boards to adopt for their own organisation's needs.
