Charity trustee standards for governance and leadership

All charity trustees, regardless of the size or complexity of the organisation, should understand and be committed to complying with legal and regulatory requirements, and also to adopting good governance in a form that is effective and proportionate. As individuals, charity trustees must understand their legal duties and the limits of the powers which are set in their charity’s governing document. This document sets out standards which charity trustees should follow and provides suggestions to help trustees in fulfilling their duties.
