The UK’s Investor Forum was officially launched this week with the appointment of Simon Fraser as chairman.
Fraser is currently chairman of Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust and was previously chief investment officer at Fidelity. Andy Griffiths, senior adviser to Corsair Capital has been appointed executive director.
The forum has been set up following recommendations made in December 2013 by the Collective Engagement Working Group in response to the Kay Review on equity markets and long-term decision making.
Among the key aims of the forum are the promotion of shared commitment to long-term strategies and sustainable wealth creation and the commitment of more resource to stewardship and engagement by institutional investors.
The forum plans to hold its first meetings in September and will offer both domestic and overseas investors the opportunity to come together in engagement groups.
