Lidl’s dealings in the EU court prove to be futile from the outset
After reading the latest case to come out of the General Court of the European Union, I could not but help think of Frank Sinatra’s song ‘High Hopes’. The song relates to hopes and expectations, with an ant trying to move a rubber tree plant, and a ram trying to punch a hole in a dam – a case of hope over adversity.
That brings me to the Lidl case and its quest, which began on 14 December 2012, to register the trade mark ‘DELUXE’ ...
