NEDs must face reality of world trade
Non-executive directors (NEDs) are being over-stretched, offering little more than status value to the businesses they serve. Some NEDs hold as many as 30 such positions, making it impossible for them to fully understand what is happening at the heart of an organisation. In these circumstances, they may avoid challenging their counterparts on core issues affecting the business because they simply do not have the time.
