The government plans to abolish the annual return

The government plans to abolish the annual return and move to a regime where a company is required to confirm that its filing at Companies House is up to date at least once a year. The intention, as stated in ‘Company Filing Requirements – Red Tape Challenge’, is to replace the annual return with ‘check, notify changes as necessary and confirm’.
