Prepare to be challenged this AGM season, says Bernadette Barber

The AGM season is in full swing. AGMs are, for public companies at least, perhaps the most intensively planned and least predictable event of the whole calendar. Much of the stress that accompanies this process tends to be borne by the company secretary. The ‘shareholder spring’ of 2012 did nothing to alleviate the pressure felt by AGM organisers – it raised the bar and changed the AGM landscape accordingly.
