A new network to bring the company secretarial and governance community together
For some time, members and students in the West Midlands have lacked the support of an active branch. That will change this autumn, with a new branch being founded in the region to bring the company secretarial and governance community together, and create fresh networking and professional development opportunities.
The branch is being established with the help of some fantastic volunteers and the creation of a new partnership between ICSA and the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (ACGP).
ACGP is a Birmingham-based membership body. It offers professional qualifications for board members and those working in governance functions and promotes the importance of good governance to the success of all organisations operating in the private, public and third sector. We have much in common and are pleased to welcome members of the ACGP into our global and local communities as professional subscribers.
If you are interested in discovering more about these new developments, there are two events taking place this autumn that you are warmly invited to join:
A lecture by Dr Chris Handy OBE, CEO of the Accord Housing Group, will mark the ICSA/ACGP partnership launch | Birmingham City University
A packed evening of CPD from Peter Swabey, policy and research director at ICSA, on the new UK Corporate Governance Code, as well as branch planning, election and networking | PWC Birmingham

We are delighted to support these developments and look forward to helping
our newest branch go from strength to strength in its activities.
If you are not in the West Midlands, but are looking to connect with your branch or get a local network off the ground, please get in touch with Lesley Ward, ICSA branch liaison and mentoring manager.
