Managing your profile and preferences

There are new features to take advantage of in MyICSA. You can now manage your entry in the new directory of members, control what we send you via our new preference centre and sign up to receive more technical content.

Directory of members

The directory of members was published on the ICSA website in August. It allows people to see whether someone is qualified and promotes the value of our members. It also enables people searching for a qualified company secretary to find a Member in Public Practice. Entries contain: names, grade, date of qualification and current membership status. We do not provide contact details.

Your communication preferences

You can now control what you receive from ICSA. Under ‘My communication preferences’, use the checkboxes to select which regular updates you would like to receive and the sectors you are interested in.

Technical archives

Our technical briefing archives are divided into three specialist areas: company secretarial practice, governance, risk and compliance and financial services compliance. These archives also contain updates of news and analysis from our content partner, Mondaq.

Logon to www.icsa.org.uk/MYICSA to benefit from these new features. If you have any comments, drop us a line at webmaster@icsa.org.uk

Essay writing competition – in memory of Tom Morrison FCIS

ICSA is launching an essay writing competition, in partnership with ShareGift, in memory of Tom Morrison FCIS who died in May 2014.

Tom was highly regarded and influential both in the share registration industry and in the wider profession, as well as being an active supporter of ICSA. He was a former member of the Institute’s Council and served as UKRIAT President in 2008. The competition is intended to recognise his contribution to the industry and his relationship with ShareGift from its early days.

The essays will require candidates to demonstrate new ways of promoting good governance. For example, taking experience and ideas from one sector and re-engineering them for a new context, adapting common company secretarial transactions or activities, and in doing so, promoting the quality of good company secretaryship.

Two prizes will be awarded to ICSA students, graduates and other students early in their career. Further information about how to enter will be announced shortly on the ICSA website.

Changes to CSP

From November 2015, we will no longer produce a CD to accompany the print version of ICSA’s Company Secretarial Practice.

All members who subscribe to CSP print will receive complimentary access to CSPOnline from March 2016 to replace the CD for the duration of their subscription.

Subscribers will have the option to transition to CSPOnline at the point of renewal.

CSPOnline is an integrated resource, providing detailed explanation and commentary on all aspects of company law and corporate governance, and explains how to put it into practice.

It allows users to tailor the product to their needs by allowing them to annotate individual content sections with online notes, collate reports and bookmark individual sections for your own quick links and export sections and chapters to PDF for easy offline access.

For further information or to subscribe to CSPOnline, please email csponline@icsa.org.uk
