Dr Patrick Bitature is one of the most successful businessmen in Africa. He founded The Simba Group, an East African conglomerate, which now operates across telecoms, energy, property, agriculture, mining and many other industries. He also has a wealth of experience governing various other organisations in Uganda. He began his entrepreneurial journey with ICSA and qualifed as a chartered secretary in his early career. He is now a fellow of the institute.

Before this year’s ICSA graduation and membership ceremony at Merchant Taylor’s Hall in London, Patrick spoke to Governance and Compliance about corporate governance, risk appetite and why businesses have an obligation to operate ethically.
