SME boards face particular governance challenges
Over the past decade there have been numerous examples of poor governance which have left organisations in serious trouble. Most are of large multinational businesses, however, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) also have stakeholders to satisfy and can be just as complex an entity as large businesses. Given the restricted avenues of finance that many SMEs face, a strong governance framework should clearly identify risks within the organisation.
