The latest version of the code of governance for NHS foundation trusts has taken on board comments about boardroom behaviours

In late 2013, Monitor, the regulator of health services in England, consulted on an updated version of its code of governance for NHS foundation trusts.

Compliance with the code continues to be voluntary. In the spirit of ‘comply or explain’, however, the regulator expects it to be used and its principles implemented. Reporting against the code provisions forms part of the regulator’s monitoring to ensure that organisations are well led.
