Knowledge: developing the research and infrastructure for improving evidence of 'what works'. Over time, this will ensure policing practice and standards are based on knowledge, not custom and convention.
Education: supporting the development of individual members of the profession. We set educational requirements to assure the public of the quality and consistency of policing skills, and facilitate academic accreditation and recognition of our members' expertise.
Standards: drawing on the best available evidence of 'what works' to set standards in policing for forces and individuals, for example, through Authorised Professional Practice and peer review.
Building the College: developing our infrastructure so we achieve even greater efficiency and effectiveness and establish the College as an independent professional body and employer of choice.
Applications are invited for the post of Governance Manager. There are 2 posts available.
The selected candidates will manage a portfolio of high level decision making forums involving executive, non-executive and external Stakeholders to ensure the College acts lawfully and takes timely decisions. To work with the Corporate Governance Lead to build the credibility of, and confidence in, corporate governance by the Board and the Executive.
All applicants must hold a degree or Level 5 qualification in Business Administration, Law, Governance or equivalent.

New entrants are normally appointed at the pay scale minimum for their grade although there is limited scope for negotiation based on skills and experience.
Existing staff and civil servants should note that, if successful, their salary on appointment would normally be determined by applying the College's usual salary progression rules. If the appointment is on level transfer, your substantive salary (excluding any allowances) will remain unchanged (unless it exceeds the maximum stated within the College pay band) and unless the successful candidate's current salary is below the relevant College grade minimum. If the appointment is on temporary or substantive promotion, the successful candidate's salary will be increased by the appropriate promotion percentage or moved to the relevant College grade minimum, whichever is the greater.

There must be no employment restriction or time limit on your permitted stay in the UK. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for at least three years, and in some cases five or even 10 years, preceding your application due to the requirement to have a checkable history for security vetting purposes.
