Non-Executive Director - AoC Create
AoC Create, part of the Association of Colleges group, is a trusted and valued partner for colleges and other education providers. With an income of around £6million, we provide a range of development and resourcing services for the further education sector, working closely with colleges and other partner organisations to support excellence across the sector.
Our value add services include recruitment of permanent and interim staff, event management and expert training and consultancy, as well as a successful specialist job board. Through our unique position as part of the sector membership organisation, we are truly at the heart of the further education sector. We work closely with our network of education leaders, as well as with our colleagues at the Association of Colleges, to shape and deliver an impactful, demand-led offer.
We have an exciting opportunity for a new Non-Executive Director to join the AoC Create Board, to play a key role in the governance, strategic direction and commercial success of the company. The new post holder will work with our forward-looking Managing Director to ensure that our services are innovative and responsive to sector needs, generating and developing new ideas and business objectives. You will have strategic input into aligning our services to our key business aims of increasing our market share, building the reputation of AoC and creating a strong and sustainable FE sector. The new post holder will also continue to strengthen our external profile, bringing a proactive approach to promoting AoC Create and raising brand awareness.
Our successful candidate will have corporate governance experience with the ability to positively impact an organisation as a board member, alongside senior leadership experience in a relevant environment. We would value a mix of education and commercial knowledge; either leadership experience in a commercial or professional services company alongside a governance role within an education provider, or a leadership role in a college with previous commercial experience. Key to our success will be a candidate who can offer significant strategic and ambassadorial strength, along with the ability to provide advice, support and constructive challenge.
If you are interested in making a significant impact on a unique, values-led commercial business, within a sector that has a huge transformational power to change lives, create opportunities and impact economic success, this could be a great opportunity for you.
