Governance Associate

The Governance team is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of governance within the FRC.

The Role:

The Governance Associate will work with the Company Secretary, UKEB Chair and staff to establish the governance arrangements for the UKEB and will provide high quality secretariat support to the Board of the UKEB. This will include:

  • Providing general secretariat support to the UKEB Board
  • Induction of UKEB Board Members
  • With the Company Secretary, UKEB Staff and Chair, developing the governance handbook (including Code of Conduct and COI policy) and recommendations for Committees / advisory groups below Board level
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory reporting obligations
  • Ensuring training on, and compliance, with the handbook
  • Ensuring actions are accurately recorded and monitored
  • Ensuring the Conflicts of Interest policy is operational, and exemptions are accurately recorded
  • Establishing and maintaining relevant registers

The Person:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of providing high quality secretariat support
  • Have practical experience of applying the UK Corporate Governance Code and / or Public Sector Governance Code
  • Have experience of drafting governance processes and documentation
  • Be adaptable, and flexible and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Have strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Have a relevant qualification, preferably ICSA.

The role will be based in our Central London office with virtual working from home during periods of restricted access to the office. The post holder should be able to work flexibly to support the team’s activities and also provide cover within the FRC as necessary.
