Head of Governance

Head of governance

Full time, permanent

Up to £70,000 depending on skills

Have you got what it takes to make our governance run smoothly and help the board make good decisions? It’s harder than it sounds. Our board is a diverse mix of skills and experience. Most of them are busy non-executives, they’re dynamic and they have high expectations.

Working closely with the Chair and other board members, you’ll provide advice and support, drawing on your own qualifications and experience of governance. And it’ll be your job to make sure we comply with our Code of Governance and regulatory standards.

With a team of 5 to support you, you’ll also help the board and executive to understand what risks the organisation is facing and how well they’re being managed.  Preparing reports for the executive team, audit & risk committee and board, you’ll build and sustain relationships with colleagues, so they know what’s expected of them.

You’re going to need a degree-level education and a professional qualification, preferably ICSA or equivalent. You’ll have experience of staff management and leadership and you’ll probably have worked at senior level within a complex or changing organisation. Governance experience is a must, and you’ll understand what it means being charitable and regulated.

We’re committed to diversity and inclusion. And want people from all walks of life to apply for our vacancies. We’re a disability confident employer with disabled-friendly offices.
