EXCLUSIVE: Company Secretary - Investment Trust

We are exclusively representing a leading Asset Management company which is part of a larger financial services group. Based in the City of London, my client is hiring for a Company Secretary in its Investment Trust division.

The job

The role has come up in the process of succession planning and will be working with key FTSE 250 investment trust boards. In the role of Company Secretary you will be providing close support and advice to fund managers of the investment trusts, including listing rule compliance, statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to the UK code, and best practice corporate governance.

You will be supported by an administrator in your work with the boards – you will oversee the collation and preparation of board papers, attend and minute board and committee meetings, and work with the fund managers and directors to provide professional and trusted advice.

Other responsibilities will include Annual Report and Accounts, reviewing loan facilities with banks, being involved in the launch and establishment of new investment trusts and supporting any M&A or liquidation activity. Further, you will maintain statutory books on Blueprint and deal with ad hoc projects when required.

The role will be based from home during lock-down and the company is currently in the process of formulating a flexible working policy.

  • For this position the company is looking for an experienced Chartered Company Secretary with substantial experience of working with UK (listed) investment trusts (essential).
  • You will have working knowledge of listing rules, the UK Governance code and other listed company requirements.
  • A solid understanding of the regulatory requirements of investment trusts is required and so are attention to detail, time management and good communication skills.

The company offers a great benefits package alongside an attractive basic salary and bonus potential. You will be working with a tightly-knit team of respected professionals in an office with very low turnover rates. Colleagues become lifelong friends and the team are looking for someone who will spend a significant part of their career with them going forward.

Thank you for your interest in this role. If you’d like to be considered for the role, please click on “apply” and attach the latest version of your CV. Please note that only candidates with the relevant experience (UK investment trusts) will be considered.
