About the Role
This is an opportunity to develop your career at the heart of a professional, forward thinking and innovative College with a national reputation. Your brief will be to actively contribute to corporate decision-making, as well as ensuring statutory compliance which is typically associated with this role.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, this is a pivotal role supporting the effective and efficient functioning of the Corporation. Working proactively at all times, you will provide a professional information, advice and support service to the Chair, Chief Executive and Principal, senior members of staff and Members of the Corporation, so that they can fulfil their ambitions for the College.
Key areas of delivery include the provision of independent, high quality guidance on statutory, constitutional, operational, procedural and ethical issues, and advising the Board, its Committees and senior staff on the proper exercise of their powers. You will take appropriate action if something is proposed that may be ultra vires or a regulatory risk.
An effective communicator with the ability to consolidate large amounts of information in a range of formats, you will possess excellent research and negotiation skills, and a keen attention to detail. You will have high level interpersonal skills and be able to engage productively with a wide variety of people. You will also demonstrate an ability to adopt an independent stance within the spirit and parameters of the Articles and raft of statutory regulations governing the role. Knowledge and experience of working within the Further Education sector in a similar or related capacity, is desirable, but not essential.

We also deliver a range of Traineeships, Apprenticeships, degree level courses, working with over 1,000 employers, helping them to meet their current and future skills needs.
