We are seeking a Group Company Secretary on behalf of our client, a FTSE 250 business which sells products and services both B2B and B2C. You will manage a small team and be responsible for ensuring that the business complies with all necessary financial, administrative and legal duties and have a good working understanding of the laws that apply to ensure high standards of governance are achieved and maintained on a consistent and timely basis. The role is a key strategic and risk management position at the heart of the business and acts as a central point of communication between the Board (and its Committees) and the Firm’s Executives.
Communication is key to this role, ensuring timely and accurate packs are with all attendees prior to Board and Committee meetings and delivering minutes/follow-up action plans in good time afterwards. You will need to build and maintain healthy relationships with senior Executives within the company (not least the General Counsel and CFO) and also with relevant senior stakeholders without.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor or qualified chartered governance professional, with extensive Board level experience in a PLC and proven understanding of the regulatory impact on Executive operations.
