Legal Counsel (Governance)

This is an important role supporting managing trustees in understanding and complying with their responsibilities set out in the Constitutional Practice and Discipline of the Methodist Church and charity law.
In this role, you will ensure the Church is legally compliant across a range of activities including risk management and data protection. You will assist in the development of policies and guidance that seek to promote good governance within the Methodist Church in Britain at national level and at other levels, working closely with the Methodist Church’s senior legal officer.
You will have experience in a senior legal or governance role for a charity or regulated body. You will have good knowledge of charity law and will need to be able to operate effectively within a complex governance environment and to influence decision making as appropriate.
