As the UK leaves the EU, the CMA will have a bigger role to play in safeguarding competition. With this will bring greater importance on the CMA being a high performing organisation. In order to ensure our statutory requirements are met across areas of policy, operational performance and overall delivery, we are recruiting a Committee Secretary to provide an excellent secretariat support and governance service to our main executive committees.
As Committee Secretary, you will provide secretariat support to the executive committees, including but not limited to the logistics of meetings, providing briefings for committee chairs, liaising with project teams and ensuring clear and accurate minutes are agreed. You will also advise committee chairs on agendas and future work programmes ensuring their work adheres to good governance procedures and is aligned to CMA's organisational strategy and objectives.
This is a true stakeholder liaison role working closely with committee chairs, the Director of the Executive Office and Performance, members of the CMA leadership team, the CMA Board secretariat and the Executive Office team. Experience of working in a similar secretariat role and/or supporting senior leaders and stakeholders is therefore essential, as are strong organisational and communication skills. You will need excellent drafting and an attention to detail to deliver accurate record of meetings to tight deadlines. Strong negotiation skills, a solutions-focused approach, the ability to take responsibility for your own workload and contribute proactively to the delivery of others’ work will round off your profile.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for development. Not only will you be part of world leading government body, you will also have the opportunity to gain an ICSA Level 4 Certificate in Corporate Governance qualification. In addition to supporting your development, the CMA commits to maintaining a culture where your work-life balance is valued, and ensuring you have a great place to work.
