Our premium-listed financial services client who is a world-leader in their industry is now looking for a first-rate Head of Board Support to provide maternity cover for a period of 12 months. Managing a team of six and working closely with the Company Secretary, the role will include attending and supporting all aspects of the Holdings company board meetings and associated committees as well as a highly regulated wholly owned subsidiary board. Our client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running with an excellent background at supporting boards and committees with the gravitas and confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of seniority. Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the provision of board support across the group
  • Oversee the provision of support to the Board of Directors, its committees and senior management of the Group through management of board and committee meetings; attending and minuting meetings alongside all other related meeting actions
  • Overseeing and managing all appointments to the Board, supporting NEDs
  • Provide support to the Chairman as required
  • Active contribution to the development and implementation of corporate governance frameworks and best practice
  • To contribute to the delivery of the strategic and operational objectives of the Company Secretarial function
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to management and colleagues on meetings governance
  • Develop and mentor the Board Support team

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Blueprint and board portals
  • Strong board support and meetings attendance experience
  • Prior line-management experience
  • Experience working within the secretariat of a large and complex organisation would be highly advantageous

  • Extremely organised
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Gravitas to be able to build relationships with ease
  • Able to confidently lead a group
