Victim Support is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve. 

Our Governance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring that the charity is effectively governed and our trustees are actively involved in the work of this life-changing national charity. The post sits in the Communications and Governance Team and will be responsible for:

  • Providing effective, efficient and timely support to Committee Chairs and Board of Trustees
     
  • Co-ordinating activity related to the Charity’s governance documents ensuring they are kept up-to-date and accessible
     
  • Assisting with the continual improvement of governance within the charity

In addition the post provides some executive support to the Chief Executive, the Company Secretary and other senior staff as well as playing an active part in managing internal communications across the charity. You will be working as part of a small and highly productive team, with occasional travel needed to other parts of England and Wales. 

To be successful you will have experience of Committee/Board administration including preparation and editing of Board papers and associated documents, demonstrable experience of organising meetings and taking accurate complex minutes, excellent interpersonal skills and excellent written skills with an eye for detail.
