Company Secretary- London/Bristol/Leeds

This is a great opportunity for a Company Secretary to work in a fast paced and challenging environment within a multinational private company. Working autonomously within the legal team, you will report to the Legal Director. You will act as the sole company secretarial resource for the company’s non-regulated entities, although administrative support is available. This role could be based in any of 3 sites (London, Bristol or Leeds) and travel between these sites may be required. You will be responsible for the administration of corporate governance issues, including best practice principles, providing advice to senior directors and managing a busy transactional workload. This would suit someone with solid technical skills gained from a background in a similar environment or from a professional services firm. Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide advice to Senior Directors and Managers
  • Develop policies relating to corporate governance and company law compliance
  • Respond to requests from Executive and Non-Executive Board Members and Senior Management at short notice
  • Support the board and committee chairs with their duties
  • Support stakeholders in maintaining and updating the Company’s infrastructure of organisational policies and procedures
  • Supporting on all M&A activity
  • Advising Legal and senior business stakeholders on company related issues and corporate governance requirements

Experience and qualifications

  • Degree plus professional qualifications, preferably a Fellow or an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
  • High level of Company Secretarial experience and experience in areas such as company law, company secretarial practice, corporate governance and risk management
  • Experience of corporate transactions
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat)
