The ICSA Isle of Man branch are delighted to invite you to our next lunch-time CPD event on Wednesday 16 January 2019.
The Isle of Man Equality Act 2017 commenced in its two-phased implementation on 1 January 2019 by providing stengthened equality provisions from an employment perspective covering sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity. On 1 January 2020 the final two 'protected characteristics' will be implemented covering age and disability discrimination, together with equal terms for work of equal value.
The session will provide an overview of the provisions of the 2017 Act, together with example discrimination, harrassment and victimisation scenarios, and practical guidance on steps that employers can take to ensure that their organisation complies with the new legislation.
Our speaker for this event will be Gail Yeowell. Gail is the owner and Managing Director of Smart HR Solutions Limited ("SmartHR") and is a highly experienced HR professional with 25 years' combined HR management and consultancy experience, who has held Global Head of HR/Group HR Director roles for multinational companies.
