The role of the Company Secretary
The report of the research conducted by the Henley Business Centre, led by Professors Andrew and Nada Kakabadse examining the role of the Company Secretary in detail, is outlined here and it makes for very interesting reading. Among the recommendations of the report are: the company secretary role should be a direct, primary reporting line to the chairman, the profile of the company secretary role needs to be raised among other board members and the broader ICSA-qualified professional is best-placed to fulfil the needs of effective boards.
