ICSA Irish Region make 2 further submissions on the Companies Act 2014

08 December 2015

The ICSA Irish Region has recently made two submissions in relation to the Companies Act 2014.

The first submission refers to Statutory Instrument 225/2015 which deals with the disapplication of the requirement to record the usual residential address of an officer of a company on the CRO register due to circumstances concerning the personal safety or security of the officer. This is set out in Section 150(11) of the Act. We are very pleased to note that our recommendation here has been accepted and the legislation has now been amended so that in the above circumstances, the Register of Directors and Secretaries and the Register of Members will display only the registered address of the Company and not the usual residential address of the officer.

The second submission deals with the issue of the exemption from the requirement for an Unlimited company to include the company type in its name. This is referred to in Section 49 of the Act.

The full submissions can be read here.
