Sarah is the first CEO of Swim Ireland - the national governing body for swimming, water polo, diving and associated aquatic disciplines and has held this position for over ten years. She is a qualified solicitor and prior to taking up her current position, worked with leading Irish law firm, Matheson Solicitors.
In 2017 Sarah was elected as the first female President of the Olympic Federation of Ireland (formerly the Olympic Council of Ireland). She represented Ireland at the European Olympic Council’s (EOC) Women in Sport & Leadership Talent Event in Poland in 2015. In 2018 she was appointed the Chair of the EOC’s Gender Equality in Sport Commission and is a member of the newly established Association of National Olympic Council’s Gender Equality Commission. Sarah is also a member of the Board of Ireland Active and a former board member of the Federation of Irish Sport and the Irish Sport Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel.
