Corporate services team of the year

This award will be given to a Corporate Services Team/Corporate Secretariat which provides effective team and thought-leadership, shows mastery of the complex legal and regulatory environment and plays an added-value role in the governance of his or her organisation.

The judges will recognise initiatives that have contributed to emerging best practise in the pursuit of good governance. Applications are invited in relation to teams working with private, public and not-for-profit organisations. In order to be eligible of this award, at least one fully qualified ICSA member should be part of the team. Please note the judging panel may contact some or all of the client companies you use as evidence in your application. There is space at the end of the form for you to provide us with contact details of these clients. Remember to get their permission before submitting their details to us.

In this category there are four questions. For each you need to explain how the nominee has:

  • delivered beyond the basic service for which they are paid
  • added value for the client and made a significant impact on the overall performance of the client’s organisation(s)
  • used technology in innovative ways to improve the efficiency and performance of the client’s businesses
  • met and overcome the challenges of dealing with more exceptional projects or transactions

  • Include information about the size of the team, how it is structured, its roles and responsibilities, and some background information on the company.
  • Include examples of how the team has collectively driven departmental efficiencies or has significantly exceeded expectations from what would normally be required from a company secretarial or governance team.
  • Please include as many examples as you can. These could include issues such as corporate action, company constitutional reform, corporate restructuring, board issues or governance improvements.
  • Clearly outline the problem as it was, the solution proposed, how the project was implemented and what benefits the new process has delivered. You can use more than one example.
