Companies wanting to bring libel action will face a significant challenge under new defamation laws.

Defamatory comments are typically of a disparaging nature published by one person about another and liability for such statements can fall to authors, editors
and publishers. There is a presumption that defamation has taken place unless the defendant can prove otherwise and any action for defamation must be brought within one year of publication.
