The 2014 AGM season may be an indicator of the success of the new directors' remuneration reporting regulations

In determining the ‘success’ of the new Directors’ Remuneration Reporting Regulations (the new regulations) since their introduction last October, it is worth reminding ourselves of the reasons for their introduction.

In the period between 2008 and 2012 (and many would argue long before this), there was a perceived disconnect between the performance of listed companies and what they paid their executive directors, which resulted in the ‘shareholder spring’ of 2012.
