Interactive Virtual Workshop

How does exclusion happen in your boardroom?

An interactive virtual workshop launch of the Mindful Exclusion report to improve the effectiveness of your board’s agenda, dynamics and composition

Overview

How does exclusion happen in your boardroom?

What issues do not make it onto the board agenda? What information is not shared amongst colleagues? Which groups of people are not selected to join?

Are these decisions guided by your organisations’ values, vision and strategic objectives? Or by mindless automated responses?

The Chartered Governance Institute and the Centre for Synchronous Leadership have collaborated to produce a ground-breaking report on mindful exclusion, following a study of over 300 governance professionals, board directors and executive committee members.

Join us for this interactive launch event as we:

  • reveal how exclusion is occurring in the context of organisational governance
  • clarify the three mindless traps that cause decision-making to become insular
  • identify mindful practices that can increase board effectiveness
  • discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by COVID-19

Speakers

Peter Swabey, Policy & Research Director at the Chartered Governance Institute, will kick off proceedings, followed by a keynote address from Justine Lutterodt, Director at the Centre for Synchronous Leadership. You will then hear from six senior leaders who embody elements of best practice.

  • David Dunckley, Chief Executive Officer of Grant Thornton UK
  • Michelle Nettles, Chief People & Culture Officer at ManpowerGroup
  • Anthony Corriette, Company Secretary at BBC Studios
  • Penny Scott-Bayfield, Group Finance Director at Bloomsbury
