ESG Summit: Embracing a green and sustainable recovery

Register for the ESG Summit

Summary

Environmental, social and (corporate) governance (ESG) has been on the agenda for decades. With the fifth anniversary of the Paris Agreement on climate change last year, organisations are reflecting on how this was the catalyst needed for significant change. This is especially the case as the global economy recovers from the events of the last 12 months.

2020 marked the deadline for signatory countries to submit their plans to reduce greenhouse emissions, which has led to greater stakeholder scrutiny on climate issues as well as on businesses’ impact on society more widely. With calls for real and lasting change, our panel discussions will provide insight into what other organisations are implementing and how they measure success.

ESG pressures on organisations

Increasingly, board agendas and organisational strategy have included:

  • carbon footprints;
  • supply chains;
  • corporate purpose;
  • diversity;
  • equality;
  • and sector-specific matters.

What makes these discussions difficult is a lack of global standards surrounding the issues presented by ESG, against which organisations can develop their strategies, and benchmark their success.

Embracing ESG in your organisation

Split over two days, The Chartered Governance Institute ESG Summit will address the key issues governance professionals around the world face in developing, implementing, and analysing their ESG strategies.

By attending the event, you will learn about:

  • Effective ESG strategies and how to build them using best practice
  • The challenge and opportunities of going carbon negative and what that really means for your organisation
  • Organisational purpose and values, and how these need to be continuously aligned with changing stakeholder expectations
  • Regulations and directives within climate change reporting, and how these can be used to your advantage
  • Risks and opportunities linked to implementing ESG strategies
  • Board composition and how this supports the evolving expectations of the organisation and stakeholders
  • Economic benefits of sustainable organisations

Is your ESG strategy working for you?
