Governance has a new champion

Edith Shih FCG (CS, CGP) FCS (PE), International President of The Chartered Governance Institute, announces the new name and global visual identity of the International Institute.

Dear member,

Governance has a new champion

I am delighted to announce that The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators has changed its name to The Chartered Governance Institute. You will often see the international Institute referred to as CGI Global.

This is a truly historic change for our organisation.

Over the last decade the membership of the Institute has evolved to encompass chartered secretaries, governance advisers, risk managers and more. We need to look beyond the title of company secretary to be seen externally with what we have become internally.

Our vision is to be the leader in the practice of governance around the world. Our mission is to become the shining beacon in governance. We will be the best advocates, the best educators and the most active organisation in the promotion of good governance globally.

CGI Global and the nine divisions in our network collectively, is the only international organisation that can offer a qualification that will empower a person with skills that transcend borders. We’re actively shaping the future of our profession globally to guide members throughout their careers. We’re the only organisation that can facilitate the international movement of governance professionals and their ideas, ensuring member portability.

I encourage you to look out for our new global visual identity that will become evident over the coming weeks and months. This is only the beginning and we look forward to working with you to enhance the practice of governance in all organisations.

Yours sincerely,

Edith Shih FCG FCS(PE)
International President
The Chartered Governance Institute
