The ICSA Annual Awards

The judging process

  • Reporting awards

The annual reports of the FTSE 350 are reviewed and reduced to a longlist of ten reports in each category and then shortlisted to four or five reports in each category by our independent awards partners.

The shortlisted reports are then reviewed by a group of independent judges drawn from our judging panel and a decision made.

That decision is then reviewed by the independent chairman of the judging panel.

  • Nominated awards

For the individual section of the awards, nominators were asked to submit biographical information of the nominee and a general statement in support of the nomination, plus specific examples or evidence of achievement. These nominations and those of companies nominated in the ‘Best Annual Report - Small Cap and AIM’ category were analysed and shortlisted by a panel of experienced company secretaries.

The shortlisted reports are then reviewed by a group of independent judges drawn from our judging panel and a decision made.

That decision is then reviewed by the independent chairman of the judging panel.

  • Best Investor Engagement Award

The company secretaries of all FTSE350 companies are contacted by ICSA and asked to nominate the investor or investment manager who has been responsible for the most constructive stewardship engagement with the company in the last year. Each company secretary has one vote, these are collected on a confidential basis, collated and the shortlist and winner chosen on the basis of the highest number of votes.
