Scarlett Brown is Senior Researcher in the Grant Thornton Governance Institute, a dedicated team specialising in governance research, analysis and advisory services. She has a background in social research, specialising in corporate governance and workplace diversity, and recently completed a PhD at King’s College London. Her PhD research examines gender differences in how non-executive directors are appointed to corporate boards in the UK, and the effect of the ‘women on boards’ agenda.
Scarlett co-runs the delivery of the Grant Thornton Corporate Governance Review and has experience managing large scale research projects. She also delivers governance training, and advisory on diversity at board level and throughout organisations.
She has presented her findings at a number of academic and practitioner events, and it has been featured in the Financial Times.
