Jonathan Bamford has a substantial knowledge of information rights regulation gained over 30 years of helping organisations understand and comply with their information rights law obligations. He has been with the UK’s information rights regulator since the role was first established in 1985.
He has performed a variety of compliance and policy roles over the years. This included overseeing the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) work during the development and passage of the Data Protection Act 2018.
His current leadership responsibilities centre on ensuring that the ICO delivers its information rights strategic objectives through effective guidance, influential engagement in key areas including public services, private and third sectors and providing the internal policy advice underpinning other ICO activities.
