The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators

The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (WCCSA) is the modern City Livery Company for ICSA: The Governance Institute members and students and other senior governance and administrative professionals. The livery movement in the City dates back to the medieval guilds. Today, the modern companies continue to support their professions and trades through education, professional development, charity and fellowship.

WCCSA supports The Governance Institute in developing a strong profession in line with its motto: Service with Integrity. WCCSA also supports the Lord Mayor and City Corporation in its work to promote London as the world’s leading international financial and business centre. It is a member of the Financial Services Group of Livery Companies. Additionally, it has close links with schools, universities and the armed forces and makes significant charitable donations through its Trust.

As governance and administrative professionals, WCCSA members work across diverse organisations of all sizes spanning every economic sector. Membership offers the opportunity to meet and discuss topical issues at professional/networking evenings, lectures and dinners, normally with a business speaker or panel. It also offers high-calibre charitable and volunteering opportunities, and the chance to attend exclusive business and social events at some of the City’s hidden gems and at venues elsewhere across the UK often not available to ‘civilians’. It also runs an apprentice/mentoring scheme for students and the newly-qualified.

Like all membership organisations, the well-being of WCCSA depends on a vibrant pipeline of new members. You would be joining a wider family of professionals with common interests so why not come along to one of our events and find out about the Company for yourself?
