Head of Examinations and Assessment

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time (35 hrs\week)         

Location: London, EC1N      

Salary: £47,000 – £52,000 per annum

Reports to: Professional Development Director

We are currently looking to appoint Head of Examinations and Assessment to join our busy Professional Development team. You will lead on the management, development and delivery of all ICSA’s examinations and you will be responsible for all aspects of ICSA’s quality assurance arrangements, including liaising with the Assessment Review Panel and Professional Standards Committee. You will work closely with Professional Development Director and  line manage the Assessment Manager and Examinations Manager.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the market for professional qualifications and legal and regulatory framework governing the awarding of educational qualifications. Significant experience of delivering educational programmes at a senior level is a must to be successful in this role. You will also have an extensive experience of working on the drafting and review of examination papers and/or other assessment formats. You must have a proven track of recruiting, inducting and working with assessment personnel and/or of carrying out assessment as well as experience of working with moderation groups and/or committees involved in the development and delivery of qualifications. It is important that you have experience of recruiting, managing and developing staff as you will be responsible for heading a team of five with two direct reports. You must have experience of leading a process of systems innovation and improvement.  We are looking for someone with excellent relationship building and communication skills as you will be regularly working with a number of internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will have good organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in delivery of high standard work.

Commercial acumen, and familiarity with working with and advising on budgets is also a requirement.
