About Us

A New Network for the West Midlands

In order to better support our members and students in the West Midlands, the Institute launched a new local branch in December 2018. Our aim is to bring the company secretarial and governance community together to create a space for networking, professional development events and student support opportunities.

The branch has been established with the momentum of some fantastic volunteers and the creation of a new partnership between the Institute and the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (ACGP). ACGP is a Birmingham-based membership body which offers professional qualifications for board members and those working in governance functions and promotes the importance of good governance to the success of all organisations operating in the private, public and third sector. We have much in common and are pleased to welcome members of the ACGP into our global and local communities as Professional Subscribers.

The West Midlands branch will strive to be a reliable source of advice and inspiration for your career development. We are looking forward to welcoming you at our upcoming events which are further referenced on our website.

Such behaviours are grouped into three areas: understanding, practice and values, with emphasis on their transferable nature - across sectors and of use to governance professionals at all stages of their careers.

This session was an amusing, interactive, panel-led presentation on the essence of the framework explored through stories from practice.
