When you pass the exams, you will be able to use Grad.ICSA after your name; a designation that defines you as an individual with the talents and skills to make a real impact on the success of any organisation. The Institute also supports you throughout your career, offering the opportunity to progress to further levels of membership based on work experience and references adding further value to your CV. You become a Chartered Secretary once you are accepted as an Associate (ACIS). To qualify for Associate status you must have at least six years’ relevant work experience. The six year requirement can be reduced by up to three years for graduates and holders of other relevant qualifications. To achieve Fellow status (FCIS) you need to demonstrate career progression to a senior level in a top organisation with at least eight years’ relevant work experience (or less depending on your qualifications).
