This training course supports professionals with little or no prior experience of Board Performance Reviews who are planning to procure, facilitate or conduct a review.

Through practical and interactive sessions using real-life case studies, the course will provide the know-how and tools to achieve buy-in from key stakeholders, plan and scope a board review, engage a suitable board reviewer, facilitate the board review and to use the recommendations to foster continuous improvement.  Those with significant experience of board reviews should consider completing the Role of a Board Reviewer: Advanced training course.

Company Secretaries, Governance ProfessionalsProfessionals, and other professionals with little or no experience in facilitating, procuring or conducting board performance reviews:

  • You could be responsible for, or part of a team responsible for, conducting or facilitating an internal board review.
  • You could have been given responsibility for board review procurement or are considering procuring a board review.

  2. Explain the value of a board performance review
  3. Describe the principles which underpin the planning of a Board Performance Review
  4. Explain how key stakeholders should be engaged with throughout the board evaluation process
  5. Explain the process of procuring an external board review
  6. Understand and prepare for surprise outcomes and risks
