NHS policy and guidance
NEW - ICSA guidance on NHS
ICSA is currently undertaking research for a number of guidance notes aimed at the NHS: foundation trusts, PCTs and clinical commissioning groups and is looking for assistance in reviewing draft documents and providing critical feedback on their content, tone, accuracy and usefulness.
If you are interested in assisting in the developments of these guidance notes, please email health@icsa.co.uk and further information will be provided regarding the range of guidance notes being developed, along with an indicator as to commitment requirements and timeframe.
For members of ICSA, assisting with the development of guidance notes attracts formal CPD hours.

Best practice guides
These provide an in-depth analysis of some key topics. We currently have a best practice guide for NHS Foundation Trusts. This is for those interested in NHS foundation trusts: their history, their objectives and their governance. Sections will cover all relevant aspects of an NHS foundation trust's life, from the application status, establishment, ongoing duties and mergers or winding up, including information pertaining to the regulation of an NHS foundation trust's activities.

NHS Secretaries Group
The ICSA NHS Trust Secretaries Fora meet four times a year, under Chatham House Rule, to discuss matters pertaining to the role of Trust Secretary in NHS Foundation Trusts (including aspirant Foundation Trusts) and Primary Care Trusts. Attendance for meetings of either the NHS Foundation Trust (including aspirant Foundation Trusts) Secretaries Forum, or the PCT Secretaries Forum is limited to those performing the Trust/Company Secretary role.
