NHS FT Secretaries' Forum

The ICSA NHS foundation trust secretaries' forum seeks to:

• raise awareness and understanding of good governance, compliance and administration within NHS foundation trusts
• represent the views of foundation trust secretaries through initiating discussion and responding to consultation documents
• promote and develop the role of the NHS foundation trust secretary
• offer support and professional development to those holding the key governance role in their organisation; and
• organise meetings that will not only enable members to examine their own practice but also network with others

The forum is open to members and non-members of ICSA, but is restricted to those performing the key governance support function in NHS foundation, and aspirant, foundation trusts.

These notes listed below are a very broad record of the discussion of the above forum. They are drafted in such a manner to draw attention to the general issues facing the trust secretary role, while respecting the Chatham House rule under which discussions took place.
