Strong decision making is key to effective board performance, says draft guidance
Published on Thursday 29, July 2010
A well-designed decision-making process is one of the most important hallmarks of a strong board according to draft guidance launched today by ICSA. The guidance has been drafted with the help of a Steering Group chaired by Sir John Egan, former Chairman of Severn Trent plc, at the request of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). The FRC’s intention is that the document should be consulted by boards when considering how to apply the relevant principles of the recently published UK Corporate Governance Code.
