19 September 2011: The property, pharmaceutical, retail and banking sectors are amongst those represented in the shortlist for the 2011 ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards published today. Now in their third year, the Awards are regarded as a benchmark of quality in corporate reporting standards at a time when regulators, investors and politicians are seeking evidence of robust disclosure performance.
The Awards ceremony will be taking place at the Brewery on 16 November 2011. The Awards scheme has received strong support from the Government, the FRC, the ABI, the NAPF, the CBI and the Financial Times. The ICSA’s Company Secretary Awards will be presented on the same evening, and the event will be hosted by Journalist and Broadcaster Emily Maitlis. The guest speaker at the ceremony will be broadcaster and former MP, the Right Hon Michael Portillo.
There will be separate awards for FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies and there will be a further award for the best report in the AIM/small cap category. All of the annual reports have been assessed by Hermes Equity Ownership Services (HEOS) engagement professionals to arrive at the shortlist. The companies on this list will, over the coming weeks, be assessed by a panel of expert judges to determine the winners.
